TikTok user photoshops his face into a $343 million Powerball photo to get dates

A TikTok user photoshopped his face on his Tinder profile to make it look like he won $343 million in an Iowa Lottery Powerball jackpot game.

The DailyDot reported that a screenshot showed that before Hieu Thai uploaded the fake photo to his Tinder account, he didn’t have any matches.

After he uploaded it to the popular dating site, he had 37.

The TikTok was posted by @papergurus, a TikTok account for an academic writing resource for students. The video reposted by @papergurus has received over a million views.

In an email to DailyDot, Paper Gurus said that they didn’t know the original poster of the video, and that he is no longer on TikTok.

Hieu Thai also photoshopped his name onto the large Iowa Lottery Powerball check that he edited into his photo.

Thai’s video comes after The Tinder Swindler, a Netflix documentary about a man who used Tinder to connect with women who he would date simultaneously.

He would eventually steal money from them from under the guise of a loan.

Commenters on the TikTok video criticised Thai’s potential matches, saying that they were only matching with him because he made himself look like a lottery winner.
