All the multi-millionaire Powerball winner wanted to do was give away some of his wealth. At the press conference in April he spoke about helping others after financial advisors got his own affairs in order.

But a month later, Manuel Franco found it was a harder task than he first thought.

Franco, 24, from West Allis, tried to give away a $200 gift card to several people at an Illinois Target store, but they declined, according to the Sentinel.

Nicole Domitro, in a Facebook post on May 12, wrote that she was shopping for Pull-Ups for her son at an Illinois Target .

She was approached by Franco, who, “a little nervously,” introduced himself as a recent lottery winner with a gift card to give away.

She said he had tried to give away cards to several other shoppers, but they turned him down.

Domitro said on her Facebook page that she was doubting at first:

“As I was in target picking out Pull Ups for Andy (thank you potty training 💁🏼‍♀️), two kids in their twenties approached me (and mama bear was on instant alert but I thought they probably needed help finding the right size diaper 🤷🏼‍♀️).”

“One kid was holding his cell phone with a picture pulled up on it and the other politely (and a little nervously) pointed to the phone and said “Hi mam, sorry to bother you, I know this is weird but my name is Manuel Franco - that’s me- and I was the Powerball winner in Milwaukee and I wanted to give you this $200 Target gift card for Mother’s Day.”

She accepted the offer after checking his identity, but did not say how she planned to use the gift card.
