The draw that won an Australian man $5.7 million dollars after losing his job.

An Australian man who recently lost his job during the Covid pandemic is now looking forward to better times ahead after waking up to a $5.7 million Oz Lotto win.

The anonymous Port Melbourne winner held the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1476, drawn Tuesday 31 May 2022, and takes home $5,783,235.07.

An official from The Lott reached out to the gleeful winner, who was oblivious to his multi-million-dollar windfall.

“This is amazing! I feel like I should sit down and process this, but my head is spinning,” he proclaimed.

“I was just on the phone with my business partner when you called, so I’ll have to call her back in a moment and tell her this amazing news.

“It’s been a tough three years, so this is a huge boost,” he said.

“I can’t believe it. I’ve played Oz Lotto for years now and always dreamed of winning, but you never really expect it to happen to you.

“What a Wednesday!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his good fortune, he shared he would the prize money to kick-start his business.

“We’re in the process of starting a new business, so this has come at the most perfect time!” he exclaimed.

“This will go straight to the that – it's a dream come true!”

The Melbourne man’s winning System 8 QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1476 on Tuesday 31 May 2022 were 20, 32, 40, 27, 36, 30, 21, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 28 and 14.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1476, in Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 185 so far this calendar year, including 71 won by Tatts customers.

In 2021, 18 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across Australia collectively won more than $279.7 million.
