Man Went To Buy Eggs, Cracked A $1 Million Powerball For His Wife Instead

When Massachusetts resident James went shopping for eggs last Wednesday, he decided to buy a lottery ticket for his wife Ilona.

The first five numbers on the Quic Pic ticket he bought matched those drawn in the multi-state game’s Wednesday, October 17 drawing, which featured a $345 million jackpot.

James purchased Ilona’s winning ticket at Stop & Shop, 2991 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham.

The East Wareham, Massachusetts couple picked up their $1 million check from the Lottery headquarters in Braintree.

James purchased the winning ticket at Stop & Shop, in East Wareham. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
