New Zealand 'Lord Of The Rings' film director Peter Jackson is no barefoot hobbit when it comes to selling. He'll make a couple of million from the upcoming sale of his penthouse duplex spread.

Jackson bought two of these separate units in 2008 for $17.35 million, and started the process of combining them. The penthouses include an additional 4,000 or so feet of combined terrace space.

Jackson couldn't find a buyer for his small empire at $21.5 million and lowered the asking price to $19.95 million, listing the two units separately.

 

The large unit, a 5,869-square-foot with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, has an asking price of $14.85 million. The smaller, a 2,440-square-foot 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath is offered at $5.1 million. 

According to the sales brochure significant investment has been made by Peter Jackson including a new Roof System, parapet repair, new state-of-the-art HVAC and interior renovation.
